Door lock issue

Recommended Posts

Hi I just experienced an issue with the rear passenger door.. it's not functioning. When I lock all doors (either with key or auto lock when drive off) the rear door doesn't lock. It doesn't respond basically. Any bros had the same experience before?

had that issue before. could be because of the latch being loose if that's the case.

Hi bro... so how did you resolve it? Change the entire locking mechanism for that door? Thanks.

Hi, I had this issue for all 3 doors and demanded wearnes to change them all as it was under warranty. Seems like solenoid problem for the door lock.

Hey bro Bryan, 3 mths back, I experienced a similar issue based on the symptoms you described. Alas, may car was 3.5 yrs, just out of warranty. $400+ damage to replace the rear left door actuator at an outside workshop recommended by bro icebear. (Replaced with Original JLR parts (made in Germany), cheaper quote than Autob**t).

now the rear right door lock is also emitting groaning sounds --- signs of imminent failure. looking like a potential batch issue?

Thanks bro tintin.. can you PM me the contact? Seems like there is no choice but to get it changed else the rear door will always be unable to lock/unlock :(

Bro- Sorry to hear the problem at your end. It's important that you get this rectified on priority as it is dangerous to leave it in the current state. I am aware of folks having had issues due to Unlock/Lock which was related to Double-Lock Settings in the Setup screen. I don't think that's the issue that you are mentioning here. Do keep us posted on the resolve.

Jaguar part quality really sucks, this car does not live up to it image and brand.

I have spent more than 7k when my car just reached 5 years to replace door locks, engine mounting, sensor for coolant etc....worst quality than a normal Japanese car I had driven before....total disappointment

If you are no longer on warranty, you can try Autobolt.

Hi bros, one of my door lock is not working. Planning to get the whole mechanism from stockist and fix by workshop.

How much is the labour cost ? Any recommended workshop? Thanks.

Try Autobolt if you are outside of warrantry. They are Jag specialists...

Get a quote from them before committing...
