Workshop put c3 Spec 5w40 oil into my Jag XF 2.2D

Recommended Posts

Hi, just bought a pre-owned 2014 Jaguar XF 2.2D, brought it to my friend’s workshop for servicing. He used  LiquiMoly Top Tec 4100 5W40 C3 spec engine oil and assured me that this is ok to use for this type of car. Not convinced, I went to check further and found that my ride can only take in C1 spec engine oil. Now question is should I bring to another workshop and change the engine oil immediately or wait until the next 8-10k mileage to change? Not sure what will happen if the engine continue running on existing oil.

I've checked with few experts, it should be ok until the next oil change, which I may schedule it earlier around 7-8K mileage. Might bring my own oil this round :)

Meanwhile, can only monitor and pray ..

Trusted friend is one thing. Trusted Jaguar workshop is another. If experience goes by, I won’t let any workshop touch my jag unless they have experience with the cat. Else you will pay for their learning curve.

No offense. Just my opinion.
