XF knock down rear seats

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I have improvised the seat release cable using brake cable similar from those used in regular bicycle.

I hope this information is useful to those who intend to DIY the seat release catch.

Basically , you need to purchase the following:-

1) 1 pair of brake cables (including the outer shield)
2) matching nuts and washer for the cable release end

It cost me $16 per pair including all the nuts and washers.

Tools required:-

1) plier
2) metal file
3) patience :)

c- this stopper comes with the cable. It need to be filed down so that it can fit into the bracket of the release catch.

If your cat comes with the fold down option, you will see two yellow knobs on each top side of the boot. Pull them and the seats catch will be released.
